THE FOUNDER

In 1959, Mr. Fong Yoon Tong, a skilled cobbler, established NGEE MING SHOE MANUFACTURERS in Serdang, Malaysia. Starting as a small cottage business, he focused on producing high-quality, handmade leather shoes using traditional techniques. With a commitment to craftsmanship and durability, Mr. Fong quickly gained the trust of local customers and government departments who sought reliable footwear for their needs. This foundation marked the beginning of NGEE MING’s journey toward excellence in safety footwear, setting the stage for future innovations and growth.

1970

TRADEMARK REGISTRATION

Years later, the company expanded to a larger shop lot to accommodate more employees and purchased additional sewing machines to boost production output. During this period, Mr. Fong Lee Thiam, the successor of Mr. Fong Yoon Tong, joined the company and registered the brands “OSCAR,” “OSVALDO,” and “FERRADINI.” Over the years, the father-and-son team earned a strong reputation in the neighborhood for their fine craftsmanship and commitment to quality.

1976

LOT 25

As the business grew, the shop's infrastructure and facilities could no longer handle the increasing demand for bulk orders. To meet this demand, the company expanded and moved to a factory located two blocks away on the main street of Seri Kembangan. This new facility allowed the company to hire many local residents, supporting further expansion. During this time, the company introduced the OSVALDO brand, which received excellent feedback for its Oxford-style shoes.

1981

NGEE MING SHOEMAKER

The company was officially established and registered to COMPANIES COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA (SSM). The reputation of company and business were gradually known by some prominent branded company in the market, many orders were given to produce OEM and ODM product on their behalf. Many new machineries were imported to step up the production output and refine the product to capture the orders given.

1986

Shoe Export

The brand “FERRADINI” was introduce for making stich-down fashioned shoe and it is known for its durability. This trend was quickly spread around South East Asia market, many neighbourhoods’ country merchant like Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, and Thailand were crazy for ordering the shoe. Outsourcing service is much needed during the period, sending clicked raw material to smaller cottage to assist on the assembly process to reduce the lead time to customers. Daily working scheduled were from dawn to dusk.

1994

FIRST DESMA DIRECT SOLING MACHINE (12-STATIONS)

The enlightenment of shoemaking was initiated with the very first DESMA Direct Soling Machine purchased. The process and the formulation of chemical became a challenged, many trials and wastage were disposed. Husband and wife bite the bullet to overcome and understand the composition of every element. At last, the very first pair of OSCAR safety shoes were born. The brand “OSCAR” was then introduced for making Polyurethane/Nitrile Rubber safety shoes. The structure was known for its comfortable, durable, strong interlayer bonding and resist to water and oil sipping through the layer that caused detachment.

1997

DIVERSIFY TO SAFETY SHOE

Nothing good lasts forever in business, the Asian financial crisis that happened in late 1990s causes a major impact on the market economy. Trades between country became a purgatory, goods that sent to oversea were stranded and rejects back to the seller. Dress fashioned shoe faced a tremendous downfall in both local and foreign market. The director makes a courageous decision of full diversification of business from dress shoe to safety shoes to sustain the impact. General and Electrostatics safety shoes were starting to published in the market.

2005

Years later the company has recovered and the transition into safety shoes was considerably successful. The brand “OSCAR” starting to gain its prestige feedback for the quality and durability. Prominent company and government department came to approach us to customized military boots and OEM women sandals. Many cooperate purchase our product for exquisite design and professional usage. Oil and Gas safety boots were one of our specialties.

2012

SECOND DESMA DIRECT SOLING MACHINE (24-STATIONS)

Third generations successor Mr. FONG CHUN WAI and brothers has come to joined the company. A new investment into machinery is much needed. Hence, the second DESMA Direct Soling Machine were purchased to make a finer product that par with European standard. Their vision was determined, mission was enforced. Able to comprehend the shoe structure, style, standard requirement, material, formulation, construction, and procedure. Fabricate products with higher standards and compliance to local and foreign authority. Challenged OEM chainsaw boots to Canada’s lumberjack.

2018

LOT 2996

The limitation of old factory infrastructure has derived the necessity of shifting to a bigger production area to setup a proper production and productivity management system to reduce waste of the company. A series of laboratory machine were also setup for the purpose of quality control and raw material examination.
